Cooper’s Quality Short-Term Rental Trucks Earn Their Keep

Across the UK, renting materials handling equipment is becoming increasingly popular as a cost-effective alternative to outright purchase – not only for small forklift trucks, but also for specialised heavy lifting equipment.

More and more businesses are coming to appreciate the advantages of being able to hire supersize machines, like the 32 tonne Konecranes forklift that we have added to our fleet, for a period of up to 12 months.

The extra capacity enables businesses to manage fluctuations in production, meet an unexpected emergency demand and take on contracts they wouldn’t otherwise be able to fulfil.  Short-term rental solutions are also an effective way of ‘filling the gap’ until a planned machine acquisition is finalised and providing cover for older, less reliable machines.

At Cooper we take the time to understand our customers’ materials handling requirments before creating besopke short-term hire  solutions. Contracts can incorporate service and maintenance support, as appropriate, and are are tailored to satisfy an individual company’s needs.

Ports, rail/freight operators, logistics companies and manufacturers – in fact any business that uses heavy duty forklifts, reachstackers or container handlers in its day-to-day operations – can benefit from the added flexibility that a short-term hire solutions offers.

Trucks available through our heavy lifting division, Cooper Specialised Handling, are low hours, high specification machines fitted with a range of options. And because they are supplied as fully operational, they start earning their keep the minute they arrive on site.

Only the very best equipment makes it on to our short-term rental fleet. Our own team of highly qualified, experienced engineers puts each machine through a rigorous pre-hire check before preparing it to our exacting quality standards:

  • We inspect wheels, tyres and steer axle bearings to ensure they meet safety requirements
  • All fork, mast and carriage controls are routinely tested
  • Our engineers examine pipes and fixings to make sure none have worked loose
  • We check engine oils and hydraulics lubricants – and top them up as necessary

We also clean every truck thoroughly prior to delivery to the customer.

Increasingly, more and more businesses are choosing short-term hire as way of improving their ability to respond to changing customer requirements.

Take a look at our new video, which highlights Cooper’s commitment to the short-term rental market and the lengths we go to when preparing ‘big trucks’ for hire:
