Cooper doubles-up at NWT Birkenhead
The new 70M is built on a wheeled undercarriage for maximum manoeuvrability, with a slew ring height of 4m to clear the freeboard of the highest vessels arriving at the busy port. The specification is completed with a 12m length boom and 10m stick to reach into the holds of NWT’s largest vessels. The machine specification is completed with Mantsinen’s patented cab riser that extends the stainless-steel cab over the hold offering the operator direct line of sight. The 70M is one of only two machines available in the Mantsinen range that is available without the famed Hybrilift energy recovery system however, NW Trading still opted for Hybrilift given the impressive fuel savings enjoyed with the 90M
NW Trading has operations both in Birkenhead, Merseyside and Goole in Yorkshire and in both regions are regarded as a dynamic cargo solutions provider in both locations. Products handled include steel, board products and agri-bulks to local service and manufacturing companies. Commenting on the new arrival, Dean Hammond, General Manager of NWT said “We have enjoyed a remarkable upturn in productivity and turnaround with the 90M so we are looking forward to the new machine simply increasing this productivity further still”
Chris Barnes of Coopers said” Repeat business is always a great barometer of customer satisfaction, so we are thrilled to be doubling the handling capability in NWT Birkenhead.” Chris continued “Whilst we have supplied multiple Mantsinen machines, this is also the first site where we have a second machine working at the same site as the first so its great to see them working in harmony”
Both machines will benefit from long term service agreements with Coopers as part of the supply contract.
